Due to a sudden drought, the wildebeest have quickly moved north to the Mara plains. The Great Migration has now flooded the Masai Mara, from the greater Mara to the Mara Triangle. It is quite literally a sea of 1.5 million wildebeest and zebra — a truly breathtaking and overwhelming sight. The exciting Mara River crossings as the herds make their way to the Mara Triangle. They will often cross the river multiple times in one day looking for the best grazing. Rain on one side of the river sees a major movement of the herds in the expectation of better grazing. Crocodiles and lions have been very active making easy kills on a daily basis.
